LawWorks is a model school and legal community partnership providing schools and communities with service, leadership, moot court, mock trial, and youth court activities that increase youth understanding of the law and our judicial system. Creating a realistic representation of the courtroom environment where students can apply their critical thinking, public speaking, analysis, and organization skills is essential to the success of LawWorks.

In order to provide this setting, CYC hopes to provide experienced legal representatives whose presence will foster a professional atmosphere. Currently, legal professionals are needed to serve as Attorney Coaches who:

• Assist Teacher Coaches in selecting youth participants and coordinating meetings and practices (when needed);
• Provide ongoing support and training about the rule of law and courtroom procedures and guidelines;
• Assist youth participants in preparing for trial including developing and organizing legal arguments; and
• Provide constructive feedback to youth participants following trial rounds.
