2007 CSOC Winner - Charles Mack Elementary

Charles Mack Elementary is a diverse school located in Elk Grove Unified School District, in Sacramento County. The school’s character education initiative at Charles Mack aims to give all students the skills they need to increase their emotional intelligence along with their academic intelligence. In reviewing the recent results of the annual standardized testing, Charles Mack Elementary met its API and AYP targets in each area as established by both the state and federal governments. Moreover, Charles Mack Elementary made significant growth in the API score with an increase of 42 points!

On March 1, 2007, Charles Mack Elementary, in Elk Grove Unified School District, was recognized as a 2007 California School of Character. State Superintendent of Public Instruction Jack O’Connell presented the award during a student assembly.
