CHARLES
MACK ELEMENTARY SCHOOL RECOGNIZED FOR “PROMISING PRACTICE”
IN CHACTER EDUCATION
June 12, 2007 . . . Washington, DC – Over 100 schools
and districts from around the United States as well as from
Canada, Mexico, and Singapore will receive 130 awards for
“Promising Practices” in character education.
Charles Mack Elementary School will receive two awards for
the “Think it Through Sheet” and the “Student
Character Education Video.”

Intermediate School Selected as Finalist in National Schools
of Character Competition
March 27, 2007 . . . Washington, DC – The Character
Education Partnership (CEP) has selected Orinda Intermediate
School as a National Finalist in its National Schools of Character
awards program. CEP chose 25 finalists from 133 applicants
across the United States.
Orinda Intermediate School Recognized
as a 2007 California School of Character
On April 11, 2007, Orinda Intermediate School, in Orinda Union
Elementary School District, was recognized as a 2007 California
School of Character. The award was presented during an all-school
assembly where Orinda was also recognized by the Mayor for
their Others First community service program.

Ladd Recognized Prairie Elementary as a 2007 California School
of Character
On March 15, 2007, Prairie Elementary, in Elk Grove Unified
School District,
was recognized as a 2007 California School of Character. EGUSD
Superintendent Steven Ladd presented the award during the

Instruction Jack O’Connell Recognized Charles Mack Elementary
as a 2007 California School of Character
On March 1, 2007, Charles Mack Elementary, in Elk Grove Unified
School District, was recognized as a 2007 California School
of Character. State Superintendent of Public Instruction Jack
O’Connell presented the award during a student assembly.
