Objectives/Outcomes

Identify your conflict style and how to effectively respond to others

Increase your understanding of differing values and styles of communication

Gain the ability to understand the issues, perceptions, and values that lie at the root of a presenting conflict

Learn and practice skills to be an effective listener and gain awareness of the importance of listening in our society

Increase your listening and empathy skills to effectively work with others.

Learn and practice the key planning points for addressing conflict

The discussions were rich and I appreciated the different perspectives.

Today I learned great activities to take back to our school site.

The experience I value most from today was getting to know others, learning the material and being able to turn around and use it in my professional as well as personal life.

 

Day 2 Agenda

• Understand conflict as a natural state of human affairs and the value of approaching conflict in a positive manner.

• Understand the steps and skills of the Peer Mediation Process

• Ability to perform the steps and skills of the Peer Mediation Process

• Prepared to perform the steps and skills of the Peer Mediation Process at school site.
